Corrosion: Salt Fog testing
The Corrosion Salt Fog Test provides a standard method for making a qualitative evaluation of the corrosion protection performance for evaluating the corrosion protection performance on coating Material.
Typical coatings that can be evaluated with this method are:
- Phosphated (pre-treated) surfaces (with subsequent paint/primer/lacquer/rust preventive)
- Zinc and zinc-alloy plating
- Electroplated chromium, nickel, copper, tin
- Organic coatings, such as rust preventives
- Paint Coating
